Thermal imaging specialist moviTHERM has launched Irley, an Internet of Things (IoT) thermal camera designed to provide early warning of fire risks, equipment failures and other heat related issues.
The system is intended to help facilities identify abnormal temperature changes before they develop into more serious incidents or operational disruptions.
Remote monitoring and alerts
Irley can be connected using either Ethernet or LTE, allowing it to be deployed in facilities with existing network infrastructure or at remote sites without wired connectivity.
When temperature thresholds are exceeded, the system can automatically issue alerts by phone, text message or email, enabling users to respond quickly. Operators can also remotely view thermal images, monitor temperature trends and adjust system settings without visiting the site.
Incident documentation
The system automatically records alerts and events, creating a documented history that can be used to support post incident reviews and risk management processes.
According to moviTHERM, maintaining a record of monitoring activity may also assist organisations when providing evidence to insurers following an incident.
Irley is aimed at facilities managers, manufacturers and organisations responsible for protecting high value assets or operating in higher risk environments.
Founded in 1999, moviTHERM develops thermal imaging and monitoring technologies. Irley is the company’s first proprietary thermal camera and has been designed for users without specialist thermal imaging expertise.
Markus Tarin, President and CEO of moviTHERM, said: “Every minute matters when heat starts to build. Irley™ gives people the one thing they usually don’t have in these situations, which is time.”
