Teledyne FLIR has highlighted its European manufacturing operations, where engineering, production and quality control teams work together to develop thermal imaging cameras for industrial, electrical and emergency response applications.
The company’s facilities in Tallinn, Estonia, and Täby, Sweden, support the production of thermal cameras used by firefighters, maintenance technicians and building inspectors.
Integrated manufacturing supports quality control
Unlike manufacturing models that distribute production across multiple countries and suppliers, Teledyne FLIR keeps engineering and manufacturing operations closely connected.
This approach allows engineers, production personnel and quality specialists to work together, identifying and resolving potential issues during manufacturing.
The company says this proximity supports consistent product quality and reduces the challenges associated with complex international supply chains.
Estonia facility produces 215,000 cameras annually
Teledyne FLIR’s Tallinn manufacturing facility covers 4,300 square metres and operates 23 production lines.
Approximately 215 employees work at the site, which produces around 215,000 thermal cameras annually.
The facility has a production capacity equivalent to approximately 180,000 working hours.
Its operations support the manufacture of handheld thermal imaging equipment used across several professional sectors.
Swedish operations support specialist camera production
In Täby, Sweden, Teledyne FLIR operates a 5,000 square metre facility supporting its Solutions business.
The site produces approximately 11,000 cameras annually and accounts for around half of the company’s global Solutions revenue.
Approximately 125 employees work across production, warehousing, engineering, shipping and supply chain operations.
Thermal imaging supports critical applications
Teledyne FLIR cameras are used in environments where identifying temperature differences can support safety and maintenance activities.
Applications include firefighting and search and rescue operations, electrical inspections, industrial equipment monitoring and building assessments.
By maintaining closely connected manufacturing and engineering operations in Europe, the company aims to support product reliability and quality across these demanding applications.
Koen Jacobs, VP Sales EMEA – Instrumentation at Teledyne FLIR, said: “For us, this is simply where the work happens. Our engineers, production teams and assembly lines are based in Tallinn and Sweden.
“As customers take a closer look at where products come from and how they’re made, we’re proud to point to the people and facilities behind the cameras.”
