Firefighter PPE manufacturer FlamePro has been awarded a place on the National Firefighter PPE Framework, overseen by the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC).
The appointment recognises FlamePro as a leading UK manufacturer and supplier of firefighter protective clothing and creates a significant opportunity to supply PPE to all 49 UK fire and rescue services.
Six Framework Lots Awarded
East Yorkshire-based FlamePro has been named on six lots within the framework, covering both structural firefighter PPE and lightweight firefighting PPE.
The company said its full-service approach and commitment to customer support played a key role in securing its place on the framework.
PPE Designed for Operational Demands
FlamePro’s structural firefighter kit is designed to provide maximum protection while remaining lightweight, comfortable and well fitting.
Its lightweight firefighting PPE range is intended for crews undertaking complex search and rescue operations and responding to road traffic collisions.
Through the framework, fire and rescue services can either purchase PPE directly or opt for a fully managed service that includes cleaning and maintenance throughout the contract term.
Digital Asset Management Innovation
FlamePro has partnered with workwear laundry specialist CLEAN to deliver kit maintenance services.
A key factor in the framework award was the company’s FlamePro Central asset management platform. The system uses built-in RFID technology to provide real-time tracking of individual garments and equipment.
Fire services can monitor kit movements, receive cleaning notifications, track garment life cycles and reduce losses. FlamePro says the system removes time-consuming administration and improves efficiency.
Export Opportunities Ahead
The National Firefighter PPE Framework will run for eight years, with FlamePro successfully securing all six lots it tendered for.
The company believes the award will also strengthen international export opportunities, with UK firefighter PPE widely regarded as a global benchmark for quality and performance.
FlamePro Managing Director Tony Arnett said: “Being named on the National Firefighter PPE Framework gives fire services the confidence and clarity that, by choosing FlamePro, they are not only getting PPE they can rely on, but a first-class customer support experience which we believe is unrivalled in our industry.
“Our selection for this framework will widen our customer base in the UK significantly, and enable us to help more fire and rescue services protect their crews when called out on life-saving operations.
“It reflects the growth of the business as an innovator and an industry leader in the manufacture of firefighter PPE, and is testament to the dedication of our entire team to delivering unrivalled quality, reliability and service to our customers.”
