MSA Safety is presenting developments across its GALLET helmet and M1 Self Contained Breathing Apparatus ranges at the National Congress of French Firefighters in Haute Savoie, France.

The event marks the first presentation of the new GALLET F1 Fire Helmet to French fire and rescue professionals.

GALLET F1 helmet makes French debut

Developed with input from firefighters, the latest GALLET F1 provides thermal and impact protection around the top, front, sides and rear of the head.

A redesigned face shield is available in clear and gold coated versions, providing protection against radiant heat, debris and electrical hazards.

The helmet also offers broader sizing options and an externally mounted adjustment system. An optional L360 lighting module provides operational illumination and incorporates a rear facing light to improve firefighter visibility.

Its modular design allows departments to configure accessories, including the GALLET Com’One communication headset. The helmet is designed and manufactured at MSA’s facility in Chatillon sur Chalaronne, France.

Rescue helmet protection

MSA is also presenting the GALLET F2XR rescue helmet, which is certified for water operations, wildland firefighting, technical rescue, urban search and rescue and climbing.

An Integral Neck Curtain and Heat Shield provides additional neck and face protection for demanding environments, including wildland incidents.

M1 SCBA telemetry expands

MSA is also highlighting its M1 SCBA Telemetry System, now available across France and Europe.

The system transmits SCBA information to incident command, allowing commanders to monitor firefighter and team status, issue evacuation alarms and receive acknowledgements.

Components include the M1 Control Module, which provides pressure sensing, distress alarms, radio telemetry and free fall detection.

The MSA HUB combines information from multiple firefighters and creates a local wireless network, while the MSA Repeater extends connectivity in locations including high rise buildings, basements, tunnels and underground infrastructure.

Jose Sanchez, MSA Safety Senior Vice President and President of EMEA Business, said: “France is where the GALLET story began, and it is where the next chapter of that story continues.

“The new GALLET F1 Fire Helmet reflects our collaboration with firefighters who have helped shape each iteration of the helmet.

“We’re proud to bring this latest innovation to the French market and to design and manufacture helmets in France that help protect the firefighters who serve communities across the country.”

MSA is exhibiting in Hall B2, Booth H15 during the congress.
