Performance Advantage Company (PAC) has redesigned its IRONSLOK HD tool mounting system to accommodate both standard and oversized firefighting tools.
The new IRONSLOK HD, part number K5003 HD, replaces both the previous IRONSLOK HD and the standard IRONSLOK, part number K5003, which has been discontinued. The redesigned system can secure standard sized irons alongside larger tools including the Pig Axe and Fire Maul, while remaining suitable for standard Halligans.
Redesigned modules expand tool compatibility
The system features a Positive Locking FastLok mounted to PAC’s MINI DUAL TRAC aluminium extrusion, together with redesigned end modules.
Changes to the modules allow the IRONSLOK HD to accommodate larger irons. The handle side module can secure additional spike ends, while the housing side module incorporates a tapered, keyed entry intended to simplify tool alignment and positioning.
FastLok straps are available in yellow, orange and black. The FastLok cam lever system secures the tools while allowing release when wearing gloves.
NFPA compliant tool security for in cab use
The IRONSLOK HD complies with NFPA requirements for in cab use. Its injection moulded and thermoformed modules use weather and UV resistant materials, while the complete unit is non conductive.
Weighing just over 7.5 lb and measuring 33 inches in length, the system provides different installation options for fire apparatus.
Horizontal and vertical mounting options
The K5003 HD can be installed either horizontally or vertically, enabling fire services to select a configuration according to available apparatus space and tool positioning requirements.
PAC states that the redesign followed research, customer feedback and operational testing before its launch in March.
The IRONSLOK HD is manufactured in the United States and carries PAC’s limited lifetime warranty. Under the warranty, parts that fail during normal use are replaced free of charge following inspection of the failed component.
