The National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) has appointed Nikki Richards as its new Chief Operating Officer.
Richards joined the organisation on 1 July and will play a key role in helping NFCC deliver its strategic priorities while strengthening the support it provides to fire and rescue services across the UK.
Extensive fire sector experience
Richards joins NFCC from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, where she spent 12 years, most recently serving as Deputy Chief Executive.
In her new role, she will support the organisation’s ongoing work to enhance collaboration and drive improvements across the UK fire and rescue sector.
She said:“Throughout my career, I have been passionate about public service and creating positive change.
“I am really looking forward to getting started at NFCC and to working with colleagues across the organisation, fire and rescue services and partner agencies to help deliver the organisation’s priorities and support the sector in meeting the challenges ahead.”
