Honeywell has announced a major expansion of its fire and life safety portfolio, introducing next-generation smoke control capabilities within its NOTIFIER INSPIRE platform alongside a range of new cloud-connected solutions.
The new technologies are designed to help customers move away from fragmented and manual fire safety processes towards a more connected and intelligent life safety ecosystem that simplifies installation and commissioning, modernises compliance and strengthens emergency response capabilities.
Integrated smoke control capabilities
Developed in collaboration with members of Honeywell’s customer advisory board, the latest NOTIFIER INSPIRE release introduces fully integrated smoke control functionality.
The new capabilities are designed to simplify installation and maintenance, make system adaptations easier as building requirements evolve and reduce the need for additional hardware and complex custom programming.
The integrated approach provides a more unified system architecture, helping streamline coordination across life safety functions while reducing overall system fragmentation.
Honeywell says the result is lower total system costs, faster deployment, easier retrofits and upgrades using existing infrastructure, and improved maintenance and compliance through automated testing and centralised reporting.
Improved carbon monoxide response
In addition to fire response functions, the system includes a natively integrated purge capability that can automatically respond to carbon monoxide incidents.
When a carbon monoxide alarm is activated, the system exhausts contaminated air from the affected area while introducing fresh air to reduce CO concentration levels safely.
This ventilation strategy helps mitigate occupant exposure while complementing fire mode operation, where airflow is managed to contain smoke and limit oxygen supply to a potential fire.
Connected life safety innovations
Honeywell has also expanded its Connected Life Safety Services (CLSS) platform with a series of new tools designed to improve visibility, coordination and reliability throughout the fire safety lifecycle.
The new Zone Sync solution helps maintain alignment between floor plans, device mapping and alarm zones as buildings evolve over time.
By keeping system information synchronised, the platform provides operators and first responders with a more accurate and consistent source of information during emergency situations.
CLSS Rescue Assist supports vulnerable occupants
Honeywell’s new CLSS Rescue Assist solution is designed to help support occupants who may require additional assistance during emergencies.
The platform provides building teams and emergency responders with real-time visibility during incidents, helping enable faster, more informed decision-making and clearer communication when responding to emergencies.
Enhanced emergency communications
Honeywell also introduced USDD’s Phoenix G2 ATX Cellular Alerting technology, which adds redundant cellular communications to its first responder platform.
The capability is designed to ensure critical dispatch notifications continue to be delivered during network disruptions, improving communication resilience and reliability for emergency response teams.
Michael Troiano, President, global fire for Honeywell Building Automation, said: “With these innovations, we’re helping customers simplify complex designs, improve visibility across their systems and move beyond manual processes so they can better protect occupants, respond with greater confidence and operate more efficiently.
Simplified systems
John Strohecker, Vice president, Alarm and Detection for Cosco Fire Protection, a member of Honeywell’s customer advisory board, said: “This generation of integrated smoke control fundamentally simplifies how these systems are designed and deployed, reducing complexity in the field, accelerating commissioning and making ongoing testing and compliance much more manageable.
“Working with Honeywell on this innovation reflects a shared focus on delivering practical solutions that improve performance and safety for our customers.”
