FireAngel has launched its new Spec+ range, a complete portfolio of mains-powered domestic safety solutions that includes multi-sensor and single-sensor smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms.
Developed for the UK professional market, the Spec+ range is designed to support easier installation and replacement while helping to improve fire and carbon monoxide safety in homes.
All products are classified as Grade D1 alarms in accordance with BS 5839-6 and feature a 10-year sealed rechargeable lithium back-up battery, making them suitable for most residential applications under current legislation and standards.
Comprehensive domestic protection
The Spec+ range brings together smoke, heat, carbon monoxide and multi-sensor protection in a flexible product family developed with anticipated legislative changes and evolving consumer needs in mind.
The portfolio includes dedicated smoke alarms, heat alarms and multi-sensor devices capable of detecting smoke, heat and carbon monoxide within a single unit.
Designed for professional installers, landlords, housebuilders and housing providers, the alarms offer long-life performance, interconnection capability and a practical base plate designed to simplify both installation and replacement.
Advanced detection technology
The smoke alarms combine FireAngel’s Thermoptek™ and UltraSense™ technologies, which operate together to improve fire detection while reducing nuisance alarms caused by everyday contaminants and lifestyle factors.
Compared with previous products, the Spec+ range also incorporates bug mesh and dust compensation features to improve product longevity and minimise contamination that could otherwise result in false alarms.
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connectivity is built in as standard, allowing up to 50 Spec+ devices to be interconnected wirelessly, via hardwired connection or through a combination of both, without requiring additional modules.
Certified to recognised standards
The Spec+ range complies with recognised standards for smoke, heat and carbon monoxide detection, including BS EN 14604, BS 5446-2 and EN 50291-1, depending on the product.
Every alarm is independently and individually tested during the manufacturing process, while the complete range carries third-party SGS certification.
SGS provides UKAS-standard auditing, testing and certification to verify technical competence and compliance.
Ten-year lifespan
All core alarms in the Spec+ range are designed with a 10-year operational lifespan and are supplied with a 10-year warranty.
While smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms may continue to function beyond their recommended service life, FireAngel advises that all alarms should be replaced after 10 years to ensure continued protection for residents.
