Iolanda Del Prete is a Chartered Engineer and member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, with specialist expertise in structural fire engineering and performance based design. She currently works for Design Fire Consultants and she holds a PhD in Structural Fire Engineering, awarded through a collaboration between the University of Naples and the University of Edinburgh.
Experience in performance based structural fire design
Before joining DFC, Iolanda spent ten years as a key member of a Structural Fire Engineering team within an international multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in London. During this period, she developed extensive experience applying performance based design methodologies to structural fire assessments across complex projects.
Her experience covers large assembly buildings, sports and entertainment venues, educational institutions, mixed use developments, multi storey buildings and industrial facilities.
Structural fire engineering for major developments
Recent projects include structural fire design work for the Battersea Power Station redevelopment, Everton Stadium and Manchester City Football Club.
Iolanda’s specialist expertise includes performance based design, structural fire engineering assessment, thermo structural analysis and complex compliance, with particular experience across stadia, sports and entertainment facilities, commercial developments and mixed use projects.
Her qualifications and professional memberships include CEng MICE, PhD, MSc, BEng and AIFireE.
