Hochiki Europe’s ACD Multi-Sensor with CO brings smoke, heat and carbon monoxide sensing together within a single loop powered addressable device, providing specifiers and installers with flexibility when configuring fire detection systems.
Operating on Hochiki’s ESP Intelligent Fire Detection System, the ACD provides 24 EN 54 approved operating modes. These use different combinations of smoke detection, fixed temperature heat detection, rate of rise heat detection, CO detection and COHb toxic threat detection, allowing installers to select a response suited to the installation environment.
24 approved fire detection modes
Day and night detection modes can be selected on site. Modes incorporating Reduced False Alarm functionality automatically adjust the sensitivity of the optical sensing element over time. The sensor monitors its environment from installation and establishes a baseline reading, supporting false alarm reduction.
The CO element supports the detection of smouldering fires while also recognising the threat of carboxyhaemoglobin toxicity, commonly associated with carbon monoxide poisoning. The CO sensor has a life of up to ten years, dependent on operational usage and environmental conditions.
The ACD is LPCB approved to EN 54 Parts 5, 7, 26, 29, 30 and 31. It operates between minus 10 degrees Celsius and plus 50 degrees Celsius. Without its base, the detector measures 100 mm in diameter and 45 mm in height, with a weight of 105 g.
Open ESP protocol supports system flexibility
Hochiki’s ESP open protocol provides compatibility with a range of control panels, including Hochiki Latitude. The manufacturer also lists Kentec Taktis, Hedengrin Prodex, Hochiki FIREscape+, Advanced MxPro5 and NSC Solution F1 and F2 among supported systems.
Parity and checksum principles are applied to data packets, while FAST addressing allows devices to be programmed in any sequence. Together, these features are designed to support commissioning, system flexibility and reliable fire detection.
