Business Sprinkler Alliance launches unique Sprinkler Save and Fire interactive map

Today, the Business Sprinkler Alliance (BSA) has launched its Sprinkler Save and Fire map accessible on the new domain www.sprinklersaves.uk. The interactive map is the first of its kind in the UK and will enable users to search for selected sprinkler saves and significant fires dating back to 2012.

The BSA, which advocates greater business resilience through the increased acceptance and use of fire sprinklers in commercial and industrial premises, has provided the industry with a platform to be populated by the fire sector. This will provide information highlighting the benefits of sprinklers and the damaging impact of fires on the business community.

The map has three main filter options, allowing users to search for sprinkler saves and fires according to county, year and building use. The map is not a comprehensive review of all fires and saves, but provides a representative snapshot based on available data.

Iain Cox, BSA Chairman, said: “We’re delighted to finally launch our Sprinkler Save and Fire Map. We believe that the map represents a fantastic opportunity for us to work with our colleagues in the Fire and Rescue Service and key media to build a compendium of information that will serve the entire industry.

“We are urging all those who use the map to get in touch with any additional data they might have that will strengthen this tool. Ultimately, as an organisation, we have always sought to deliver robust information and insight into the benefits of fire sprinklers; the interactive map will only further heighten this.”

The map can be accessed at www.sprinklersaves.uk and on the BSA homepage www.business-sprinkler-alliance.org.
