With the first two Aerial Ladder Platforms (ALP) for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service in the UK delivered, Rosenbauer UK is moving forward on a new 42-metre unit for the Service, the Brigade’s third Rosenbauer ALP with delivery due later in 2018.
The first two Aerial Ladder Platforms are the highly efficient ‘B32’, boasting the latest in firefighting technology, including the excellent ‘Advanced Jacking System’, the essential 500kg rescue cage, the stunning Rosenbauer ‘design’ bodywork, and the instantly recognisable anthracite boom and locker colour scheme.
Both units have been built on Mercedes Econic chassis’ to ensure accessibility through various demanding locations in the beautiful and historic city of Salisbury.
The new 42-metre unit was awarded to Rosenbauer after a second competitive tender process to which, Rosenbauer UK Managing Director, Oliver North, commented, “We’re delighted to reveal the finished product of Dorset & Wiltshire’s 32-metre units in conjunction with plans for the third unit which will be the superb B42.
North continued, “The past 5 years have highlighted our hunger, desire and efficiency in not only winning Aerial Appliance contracts but more importantly, executing the build process to the highest standard possible. Once built and delivered, we then commence the critical process of essential aftercare and maintenance to the highest standard possible, to ensure best value and whole life cost targets are achieved.
“We look forward to continuing a healthy working relationship with Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.
