German fire departments have ordered more than 350 portable pump vehicles with water tanks from Rosenbauer, the leading manufacturer of firefighting vehicles.

Designed for rapid responses, the vehicles are versatile and offer a diversity of operational deployments, owing to the TSF-W tanks. With more than 200 units already manufactured in Neidling, near St. Pölten in Lower Austria, the vehicles have already started to be delivered to various organisations in Germany.

The State Office for Internal Administration of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania initially signed a supply contract for 265 TSF-W vehicles at the end of 2021, with the total number of orders now exceeding 350.

The latest addition to Rosenbauer’s line of firefighting vehicles, part of their “Compact-Technology Profile” series, has captured the interest of fire departments nationwide, resulting in a surge of orders for identical units.

These vehicles, built on the sturdy Iveco Daily 72C18 chassis weighing 7.2 tons and meeting DIN 14530-17 standards, boast an array of features tailored for firefighting missions. Among them is the FOX 4 portable fire pump, seamlessly integrated into the vehicle’s spacious structure along with a sizable 1,000-liter water tank. This pump can be operated from within the vehicle or remotely, providing firefighters with unparalleled flexibility during operations. Accommodating a crew of six, including the driver, the vehicle is thoughtfully equipped with SCBA and helmet holders positioned for optimal safety during transit. Enhancing functionality and safety are additional features like LED strips, a pneumatically extendable LED light mast, a retractable hygiene wall complete with water connection and a reversing camera.

In addition to manufacturing these cutting-edge vehicles, Rosenbauer is revolutionizing firefighter training with their online courses. Accessible through the Rosenbauer e-learning platform, these courses allow crews to familiarize themselves with the TSF-W vehicles from the comfort of their stations, eliminating the need for extensive travel. Detailed video tutorials covering all aspects of vehicle operation are provided, ensuring seamless integration into practical firefighting scenarios upon delivery.

The recent acquisition of over 300 TSF-W vehicles by German fire departments and disaster relief organisations reflects a strategic shift towards bolstering operational efficiency and responsiveness. These vehicles, designed for swift initial response and technical support, represent the next step in firefighting equipment evolution, emphasising versatility and adaptability. Rosenbauer’s holistic approach, including the provision of online training, signifies the seamless integration of technology in preparing firefighters for the challenges of contemporary firefighting and disaster response scenarios.
