Oshkosh Airport Products has received an order from the United States Air Force for 34 Striker 6×6 Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting vehicles, supporting the continued modernisation of its emergency response fleet.
Initial deliveries are scheduled to begin in late autumn 2026. The vehicles will be deployed across Air Force installations to support the protection of personnel, aircraft and critical infrastructure.
Enhanced firefighting capacity
Each Striker 6×6 will feature an 11,356 litre water tank, a 1,590 litre F3 foam tank and a 227 kilogram dry chemical system, providing firefighting capacity across a range of aircraft and airfield emergencies.
The vehicles will also feature 7,570 litre per minute water pumps, roof turrets capable of delivering up to 4,732 litres per minute, and bumper turrets providing water and foam flow rates of 1,893 litres per minute.
Mobility across demanding environments
All wheel drive and TAK 4 Independent Suspension will support traction, stability and vehicle control across different operating environments.
Oshkosh Airport Products said the combination of firefighting capability, mobility and durability is intended to provide reliable emergency response across a variety of military installation types and mission requirements.
Andy Mathes, General Manager for Oshkosh Airport Products, said: “Supporting the United States Air Force is both an honor and a responsibility we take very seriously.
“These Striker 6×6 ARFF vehicles combine proven firefighting performance, exceptional mobility and advanced technology to help Air Force firefighters respond quickly and effectively in some of the world’s most demanding operating environments.”
Supporting fleet modernisation
The latest order continues the relationship between Oshkosh Airport Products and the United States military, with the manufacturer supplying purpose built ARFF vehicles designed for military operations.
According to Oshkosh, the vehicles are intended to support more streamlined procurement, improve long term sustainment and reduce fleet complexity while strengthening emergency response capabilities across Air Force installations.
