Solberg foams announces retirement of industry veteran

The Solberg Company, the world’s foremost innovator of fire-fighting foam concentrates and systems hardware, announced the retirement of industry veteran Joop Rijnbout (pictured).
Joop Rijnbout entered the fire protection industry in 1979, with 3M Europe working as a sales representative in support of LIGHT-WATER fire-fighting foam and specialty fluorochemical products. Joop began his business career in 1970 with Lummus Technology B.V in the Netherlands as a heat transfer engineer, where he designed heat exchangers for the petrochemical industry and later worked for Stone & Webster.
In 2001, Joop joined Svenska Skum serving in the capacity of General Sales and Marketing Manager. With the acquisition of Svenska Skum by Tyco International, Joop was appointed to the position of Sales Manager, Foam Products EMEA Region.
Joop Rijnbout joined Solberg Scandinavian AS in 2006 leading the company’s sales and marketing department. Joop was instrumental in launching the company’s next generation RE-HEALING Foam which uses no fluorochemicals (surfactants nor polymers).
The Solberg Family congratulates Joop on his 37 years in the fire protection industry and wishes Joop all the best in his retirement.
