Ranger Fire and Security has announced the acquisition of two more fire and security businesses in the South and North West of England, continuing its growth strategy following a recent majority investment from mid-market firm Inflexion.
The latest acquisitions increase the number of businesses within the Ranger Group to 25, with more than 500 employees now operating across the organisation.
CIA Fire and Security joins the Group
The first acquisition is CIA Fire and Security Ltd, headquartered in Cirencester, Gloucestershire. Founded in 1982, the company provides fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, fire extinguishers and keyholding services to customers across southern England and nationally.
CIA has also expanded through its own acquisitions, incorporating PFS, a fire and security maintenance business, and Pioneer Automated Controls, based in Gloucester, which specialises in gates and barriers.
The three businesses, led by Matthew and Sally Harrison, will now become part of the Ranger platform.
More than 80 employees will remain with the business as Ranger looks to build on its existing presence in the South, alongside Fidelity Integrated Systems, Scion Communications Limited, Partnership Fire and Security and Universal Fire and Security.
North West presence strengthened
Ranger has also acquired AKD Fire and Security Ltd, a Cumbria-based provider of fire alarms, security systems and access control solutions.
The company has a strong focus on recurring servicing, maintenance, remedial work and reactive call-outs, serving customers across the commercial, hospitality, public sector and residential property markets.
The acquisition strengthens Ranger’s presence in North West England by linking its existing Syncro hub with its Scottish operation, Secureshield, based in Motherwell.
Supporting long-term growth
The acquisitions form part of Ranger’s strategy to bring together high-performing regional businesses to create a national fire and security services platform across the UK and Ireland.
