Mississippi Fire Department receives New Toyne

Located in Northwest Mississippi, the town of Sardis is home to nearly 1,700 residents. The Sardis, MS Fire Department, which was established in 1936, recently accepted delivery of a brand new bolted, painted, stainless steel Toyne Pumper.
The apparatus was built on a Freightliner M2 106 two door cab and chassis and is driven by a Cummins ISL350 engine and Allison 3000 EVS transmission. Engineered to deliver powerful fire-fighting capabilities, their Toyne Tailored Apparatus features a UPF 1,249 gallon tank, Waterous CS 1,250 gpm pump, as well as a Foam Pro 1600 Class A foam system. Sardis’ Toyne Pumper is also equipped with Fire Research telescoping lights and a gas powered Honda 6K generator.
Sardis, MS firefighters are trained on, and respond to, all types of calls including structure and vehicle fires, brush fires, automobile accidents and other disasters. The department also has mutual aid agreements with surrounding departments and counties in Mississippi.
