KASK has developed its Quantum helmet series for wildland firefighting, technical rescue and mountain rescue, with additional protection for water rescue applications when fitted with dedicated Quantum protection panels.
Designed for external emergency response teams, Quantum combines a polycarbonate external shell with a high density EPS internal shell. The external shell provides resistance to impacts, heat, flames and chemicals, while the internal structure is designed to absorb impact energy.
KASK’s Adaptive Fit system enables adjustment while wearing gloves, supporting helmet stability and individual fit. Quantum is available in a closed shell configuration and as the Quantum Cabrio, which incorporates 14 ventilation openings to support airflow and thermal regulation.
Certified protection for firefighting and technical rescue
Quantum complies with EN 16471 for wildland firefighting, EN 16473 for technical rescue and EN 12492 for mountaineering. When equipped with dedicated protection panels, it also complies with EN 1385 for canoeing and white water sports.
The helmet also undergoes KASK’s internal rotational impact performance testing in accordance with the KASK Rotational Impact WG11 Test.
Modularity allows additional protection and equipment to be integrated with the helmet. Slots accommodate eye, face, hearing and weather protection systems, while a front attachment point supports accessories including headlamps and ID holders.
KASK Quantum Series accessories
Available accessories include KASK FR Goggles, which incorporate a 2 mm fire resistant polycarbonate lens with Optical Class 1 clarity, anti fog and scratch resistant technologies. The goggles are certified to EN 166 and EN 170 Category II standards.
The L 5 POWER helmet torch provides another option for hazardous environments. It is ATEX Zone 0 and 20 certified, IP67 rated and delivers 180 lumens, with a beam reach of up to 106 metres and runtime of up to 30 hours. The torch can be mounted on either side using the KASK 360 degree Helmet Mount.
The Quantum Series received the iF Design Award 2023 for Design Excellence.
