The Dräger HPS 7000 is a multipurpose firefighting and rescue helmet designed to provide head, face and eye protection across demanding operational environments.
The full shell Type B helmet uses an outer shell made from composite material, reinforced with fibreglass and aramid webbing to provide resistance against mechanical and thermal hazards. The construction is designed to withstand extreme temperatures and the heat radiation associated with flame engulfment during a flashover.
An integrated face visor, manufactured from high temperature resistant material, provides protection against heat, particles and liquid chemicals. An individually adjustable eye protection visor is also available. Both configurations provide sufficient space for corrective glasses or respiratory masks.
Ergonomic firefighter helmet design
The HPS 7000 is available in two shell sizes, covering head sizes from 50 to 66 cm. The basic version weighs approximately 1,360 g, with an ergonomic design intended to distribute weight across the head.
A padded four point harness provides adjustment for different head shapes, while the helmet can also be adjusted around the neck and chin. An external adjustment wheel enables firefighters to change the head size setting while wearing wet or stiff gloves.
The HPS 7000 can be configured with Dräger respiratory protection equipment through an adjustable mask connection system. Optional equipment includes integrated and side mounted helmet lamps, the HPS BuddyLight rear warning light, neck protection and communication equipment.
Maintenance and certificaiton
For maintenance, the interior fitting can be removed and reinstalled, while individual components can be replaced using standard tools. The helmet supports manual cleaning, tumble process machine cleaning and spray nozzle machine cleaning.
The HPS 7000 is certified to EN 443:2008, EN 16471:2014 and EN 16473:2014, alongside DIN 58610:2014, SOLAS and MED requirements.
