Britannia Fire has expanded its P50 composite fire extinguisher range with the launch of the P50 Monnex fire extinguisher, designed for use in high-risk industrial environments and offshore installations.
Specialist protection for high-risk hazards
The new extinguisher uses Monnex, a specialist high-performance dry powder that is non-conductive and designed to rapidly tackle Class B fires involving flammable liquids and Class C fires involving flammable gases.
Unlike conventional dry powder agents, Monnex breaks down into smaller particles when exposed to intense heat, increasing its surface area and coverage. This allows fires to be extinguished more quickly and efficiently.
Designed for industrial and offshore environments
The P50 Monnex extinguisher is suited to a range of high-risk applications, including petrochemical plants, airports, fuel depots, power stations and manufacturing facilities.
It is also designed for isolated and challenging environments such as ships, offshore oil and gas installations and other marine facilities.
Long-life and low-maintenance solution
Like all products in the P50 range, the Monnex extinguisher is fully recyclable and environmentally friendly. It has a 20-year operational lifespan and is backed by a 10-year guarantee.
Unlike traditional metal fire extinguishers, the P50 does not require annual external servicing. Instead, routine inspections can be carried out by a responsible person, helping to reduce ongoing maintenance costs.
Certified to industry standards
The P50 Monnex fire extinguisher has undergone independent testing and is compliant for use in the UK and international markets. It is BSI Kitemarked and certified to UKCA, EN3 and Pressure Equipment Directive requirements.
Britannia Fire also offers a version certified to the Marine Equipment Directive (MED). This model incorporates the required Schrader valve and is approved for use on ships, offshore platforms and other marine installations.
