ASFP to hold its Annual General meeting in London

The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) is holding its 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Drapers’ Hall, London on 11 April.  This popular annual networking event offers ASFP members and guests an opportunity to receive news of ASFP activities and hear about the Association’s future plans.

After welcome teas and coffees from 9am, ASFP members will attend the formal AGM from 10.30-10.55. Once these proceedings are complete, ASFP guests will be invited to join the meeting from 11.15. ASFP officers will report on the Association’s performance and activities during 2023 and will look forward to the coming year. Presentations will cover technical and business developments, as well as further details of progress with the ASFP’s Competency Pathway.

Our keynote speaker, Chandru Dissanayeke of the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities will take the floor at noon to provide a detailed update of Government and regulatory progress.

The event will also see the appointment of the new ASFP Council, allowing members the chance to meet with their newly elected representatives for the first time, following the election process, which closed on 15 March.

The meeting will be followed by lunch at 1pm, where attendees will have an opportunity to network with ASFP members, officers and staff; and other industry leaders.

Encouraging ASFP members and guests to attend, ASFP Managing Director Mike Ward stated:

“With ASFP services and activities continuing to evolve, the AGM offers members and guests alike the opportunity to receive detailed updates of what we have achieved over the past year and to hear about our plans for 2024 and beyond.

“ASFP officers will offer technical and regulatory updates, as well as details of the next important milestones in the development of the ASFP Competency Pathway. We will also provide an overview of our new training recognition services, and the ASFP Pass Mark.

“The highlight of the event is always our keynote speaker, and we are grateful to Chandru for agreeing to provide his insights on the latest regulatory developments to affect the fire safety industry.

“The ASFP AGM provides you with direct access to ASFP, industry and Government representatives and an opportunity to get answers to all your concerns and queries. We look forward to welcoming to this informative event.”
