FIRE Conference 2026 will return to London on 5 November, bringing fire professionals together for a programme focused on regulatory change, professional reform and emerging challenges across the sector.
The annual hybrid event will offer delegates up to six hours of Continuing Professional Development, alongside opportunities to network with fire safety experts and industry peers.
Building safety under scrutiny
Lord Roe will officially open the conference with an update from the Building Safety Regulator, outlining key opportunities and challenges facing the sector.
A morning panel will consider the impact of the Building Safety Act, examining whether current measures are addressing industry needs, what further changes are expected and where challenges remain.
An afternoon discussion will turn to the progress of the professional reform agenda and its implications for the fire safety community.
Government priorities for 2027
The conference will also examine future government priorities for fire safety and rescue.
A dedicated session will consider the role of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Fire Safety and Rescue, including priorities such as sprinklers in schools, data storage centres, construction products and the changing use of buildings.
Bob Blackman MP, Lord Hendy, Lord Goddard and Sir Peter Bottomley will contribute to the discussion and provide insight into the policy landscape.
Learning from international incidents
International fire safety lessons will form another important part of the programme.
A session focused on learning from abroad will consider recent incidents including the Wang Fuk Court fire in Hong Kong and the Crans Montana fire in Switzerland, exploring how knowledge and experience can be shared across borders to improve fire safety outcomes.
Delegates will also hear about firefighting operations in a warzone, with a particular focus on Ukraine.
Networking and industry engagement
Alongside the conference programme, dedicated networking breaks will give attendees opportunities to exchange ideas, discuss industry challenges and share best practice.
