For wildland crews operating in remote and demanding environments, maintaining a reliable water supply can be critical. The WATERAX MARK-3® Essential combines the established high pressure performance of the MARK 3 platform with a fully mechanical system designed for straightforward operation and durability.
WATERAX MARK-3® Essential delivers high pressure performance for remote firefighting
An integrated 1 US gallon, 3.8 litre, fuel tank provides approximately 45 minutes of uninterrupted runtime at full throttle and approximately 65 minutes at 75 percent throttle. This supports rapid deployment and sustained operations where refuelling interruptions need to be minimised.
26.2 bar performance from a 26 kg portable fire pump
Weighing 26 kg, the MARK 3 Essential can deliver pressure of up to 26.2 bar. Its four stage detachable centrifugal pump end incorporates aluminium alloy and anodised components to reduce weight and provide corrosion resistance. The system is also foam compatible.
The composite Cross Over Diffuser received US Patent No. 12,650,131 in 2026. According to WATERAX, the technology enables a lighter and more compact pump end while maintaining the performance expected from the platform.
Maintenance and deployment have also influenced the design. A quick release clamp and detachable pump end are intended to minimise equipment downtime, while a maintenance free sealed bearing removes the need for pump end greasing in the field. An anti flooding feature significantly reduces the risk of flooding the engine. Optional padded backpack straps with a military grade quick release system are also available.
The pump is CE and EN 14466 certified and incorporates a USFS approved spark arrestor and ember separator.
Designed for use as a primary, auxiliary or industrial pump, applications include direct attack wildfire operations, relay tank pumping for remote watering, high elevation firefighting, in series pumping across long distances and parallel pumping where higher water volumes are required. Its compact construction also supports deployment across forestry operations, remote worksites and emergency water movement tasks.
