Dräger to launch new HPS 3500 helmet at ESS 2015

The company’s latest tactical rescue helmet

One of the leading manufacturers in safety technology, Dräger, is introducing a new helmet for all occasions – the HPS 3500 – to its portfolio of headwear for fire fighters.

The company will showcase its latest tactical rescue helmet for the first time in the UK, at this year’s Emergency Services Show.

Visitors to stand stand R37 at the NEC in Birmingham can look forward to first-hand demonstrations of the innovative and comfortable helmet.

It has been designed as a multifunctional and universal helmet for mission teams in a variety of different scenarios, including search and rescue, forest and wildfires, traffic accidents, flooding, rescues from height and providing technical assistance.

The HPS 3500’s internal 4-point harness and padding give great comfort for wearers, while the adjusting wheel is easy to use wearing gloves, and is easily adapted to individual head sizes without the need to remove it.
The helmet also benefits from a robust shell, made from high quality thermoplastic, which protects the head reliably, whilst remaining lightweight.

Martyn Lamb, Fire Service Marketing Manager at Dräger, said: “It’s great to be announcing the latest introduction to our helmet portfolio – the HPS 3500. It’s diversity is key and it can be used in the many different situations firefighters find themselves in – keeping them safe throughout.

“At Dräger, we’ve been working closely with our fire and rescue partners for many years, and our emphasis is on developing new technologies and solutions that meet the needs of the modern service. We pride ourselves on the fact that we listen to what firefighters on the ground are looking for and we’re delighted to be able to offer a helmet which ticks all the boxes when it comes to comfort and safety.

“We hope to welcome many people to our stand at this year’s ESS, to try out the HPS 3500 and our many other products and solutions, for themselves.”

Dräger will also be launching new FPS-COM 5000 and 7000 at the show, these products represent the next level of fire ground communications between wearers including features such as Teamtalk, which enables firefighters to communicate with each other, hands free, by using a voice activated full duplex communications system. Combined with direct Bluetooth wireless connectivity to fireground radios and automatic relaying of inbound radio communications, this means that everyone gets the message – first hand, loud and clear.
