The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has appointed Vishal Kashyap as Regional Manager for India, strengthening its engagement with the country’s fire, electrical and life safety sector.
In his new role, Kashyap will represent NFPA across India and work with regulatory authorities, fire service leaders, industry associations and businesses.
His work will focus on deepening NFPA’s understanding of India’s fire, electrical and life safety ecosystem and identifying where the organisation’s expertise and resources can have the greatest impact in reducing loss and advancing safety.
Engineering experience supports role
Kashyap brings more than 20 years of experience spanning engineering, fire and life safety, education and organisational leadership across India and the Middle East.
He previously served as Head of Engineering for SIBCA in Abu Dhabi, where he led a multidisciplinary team of more than 130 engineering professionals.
His responsibilities included overseeing work involving fire, security and built environment systems.
Kashyap was also named a National Geographic Channel Innovator of the Year in 2004 for engineering innovation.
Fire safety education expertise
Alongside his industry experience, Kashyap is an NFPA approved training instructor within the organisation’s Authorized Education Network.
He is currently pursuing doctoral research in civil engineering, focusing on fire safety, at Stellenbosch University in South Africa.
Kashyap holds an MBA with engineering management from Abertay University in the United Kingdom and a bachelor’s degree in electronics and telecommunications engineering from Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University in India.
