Rosenbauer opens new UK Yorkshire-based headquarters as part of the company’s growth plans
Rosenbauer UK have recently commissioned their new 20,000 square foot (1.900 m²) Yorkshire-based factory as part of both ongoing and further projected growth plans. The requirement for the new base is due to an ongoing growth of the firefighting market in the UK. The factory in Meltham, Holmfirth has undergone significant investment to create a comfortable ‘shop floor’ and new offices and conferencing facilities. All-in-all, the intention is to run an efficient and state-of-the-art fire appliance manufacturing and service facility. And as the service team grows, Rosenbauer offers one of the UK’s most enviable service departments.
Reliable partner in UK
Rosenbauer has had a presence in UK since the 1980s, so the top model among ARFF vehicles, the PANTHER, is already stationed at most airports on the island. In 2014, Rosenbauer acquired a substantial stake in North Fire, which subsequently began trading as Rosenbauer UK with around 10 employees.
Rosenbauer managed to break into the local English market with personal protective equipment, especially helmets, of which so far more than 60,000 units are in use. But aerial rescue devices from Rosenbauer have also already been introduced in England. And now also use of the municipal vehicles of the AT and CL series is on the rise. With elaborate decal application and also many other technical adjustments, the Rosenbauer vehicles are given the original “British Look.” At the new factory, minor adjustments are made by Rosenbauer UK, so that the vehicles comply with British standards. A comprehensive service par excellence is one of the key success factors in England. This also applies to Rosenbauer vehicles and Rosenbauer helmets, which are serviced in Meltham, Holmfirth.
Demonstration of Technology Day
Together with the announcement of the new factory move, Rosenbauer UK announced plans for the subsequent “Demonstration of Technology Day” where invited delegates will witness a demonstration of Rosenbauer’s latest in vehicle and equipment technology. The event looks likely to demonstrate and explain the quality, function and tactical deployment for the launch of Rosenbauer’s new AT-Stinger. The phenomenal appliance has added much welcomed, ‘firepower’ to Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service’s front line. Following the demonstration of technology will be a formal conference section of the day. Speaking at the event will be Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service Chief Fire Officer, Chris Kenny, Rosenbauer Group CEO, Dr. Dieter Siegel, and Rosenbauer UK Managing Director, Oliver North.
