Plumis welcomes fire safety expert Bernie Higgins as CPD Presenter

Plumis has strengthened its commitment to fire safety education with the appointment of Bernie Higgins as its new CPD Presenter. With over three decades of experience in fire safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance, Bernie will play a key role in delivering CPD training and supporting building control professionals.

Having served for 32 years in the London Fire Brigade, where he rose to the rank of Deputy Assistant Commissioner, Bernie has extensive experience in fire risk assessment and enforcement. He is a board member of the Fire Industry Association (FIA) and holds professional memberships with the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
In his new role, Bernie will lead Plumis’ monthly CPD sessions and provide tailored training for organisations looking to enhance their understanding of fire safety regulations. His expertise will help professionals navigate complex compliance processes and support the wider adoption of innovative fire suppression technologies.

William Makant, CEO of Plumis, said: “We are delighted to welcome Bernie to the team. His wealth of knowledge, leadership experience, and deep understanding of fire safety regulations will be invaluable in helping us engage with building control professionals. His insights will support the industry in making more informed decisions about fire suppression solutions and improving safety standards across the board.”

Bernie Higgins added: “Fire safety regulations and risk management are constantly evolving, and it’s crucial that professionals have access to up-to-date knowledge and practical solutions. I’m excited to join Plumis in delivering CPD sessions that help improve industry understanding and drive best practices, particularly within building control.”

Bernie’s appointment highlights Plumis’ ongoing commitment to knowledge-sharing and regulatory engagement, ensuring that professionals have the tools and information they need to enhance fire safety in buildings.
