Magirus unveils advanced Poseidon pump family for flood response

Magirus has launched its latest innovation in emergency response, the Poseidon pump family, designed to set new standards in managing flood emergencies and equipping fire brigades and rescue services for increasingly challenging conditions. Developed in response to a rise in extreme weather events and associated flooding, the Poseidon pumps provide enhanced functionality to meet the growing demand for reliable and efficient water management solutions.

At the heart of this new product line is the Poseidon TP 4/1, a powerful pump that stands out for its high efficiency and versatility. With a flow rate of 420 litres per minute at 1 bar and a delivery head of 10 metres, this model is tailored to the rigorous demands of emergency situations. Its adaptable pressure outlet can be oriented horizontally or vertically, and its flat suction function, which operates up to 10 mm without additional conversion, makes it highly flexible. Lightweight and designed for easy transport, the Poseidon TP 4/1 includes two ergonomic handles, allowing it to be carried solo or by a pair of operators.

To address the varied challenges posed by flood situations, the Poseidon family comprises three different models: a dirt water pump for handling contaminated water, a shallow water pump ideal for low-depth areas, and a heavy-duty sludge pump capable of moving viscous media such as sludge. Each model has been designed with compactness, ease of transport, and specific functionality in mind, making them practical and effective solutions for diverse water management needs.

With climate change driving an increase in extreme weather events, the new Poseidon pump family represents Magirus’ commitment to supporting fire and rescue teams with innovative, reliable tools. Built for high performance and user-friendly operation, these submersible pumps offer first responders the capacity to act swiftly and effectively during floods, helping to protect communities and minimise damage. By introducing the Poseidon range, Magirus reinforces its role in advancing flood protection and equipping emergency teams for the challenges of an evolving world.
