Eaton shows safe route through evacuation challenges at IFSEC/FIREX 2016

Eaton will demonstrate its latest life safety technology at IFSEC/FIREX 2016 as part of a campaign to help commercial building owners and managers protect people and property, support business continuity and improve safety standards. Visitors to the show, which runs from 21 to 23 June at London ExCeL, can get a close-up view of the power management company’s new innovations in fire, security and emergency lighting, as well as accessing best practice advice on the challenges associated with evacuation planning.

Eaton (stand G180, Hall Two) will be on hand to help visitors understand their obligations in regard to evacuation strategy and how to implement effective solutions. To support Eaton’s evacuation awareness campaign a range of web-based resources are being launched, including a series of practical whitepapers outlining key considerations. Additionally, CPD training courses are available to help professionals understand the latest safety technology.

John Robb, segment manager, commercial buildings EMEA for Eaton, said: ‘Visitors will be able to see our latest product innovations and receive advice on navigating the complexities surrounding safe evacuation planning. Most businesses recognise that they have a legal and moral obligation to ensure the safety of both staff members and visitors in the building. At a time when safety considerations are growing and becoming increasingly more diverse, it is vital that those responsible have put a robust evacuation strategy firmly in place. As an industry leader, we can help businesses install the right solutions so that people, property and business continuity are protected.’

Newly-launched solutions include the BiWire Ultra and BiWire Flexi fire alarm systems. Ideal for small and medium-sized premises, the two-wire BiWire Ultra can be installed quickly, cost-effectively and is simple to operate. The first of its type to offer compatibility with EN54-23 approved visual alarm devices, the alarm system has been designed to identify fire hazards and notify occupants promptly to ensure safe and controlled evacuations. The highly versatile BiWire Flexi allows the installer to connect a BiWire System to an existing conventional system, making it perfect for retrofit applications.

Also on display will be Eaton’s new Emergency Evacuation System, a distributed voice alarm/public address system that has been specifically developed to give fire system installers a competitive edge. Able to utilise pre-recorded messages or live speech from a fire officer, the announcements are made via a public address system which helps owners and managers ensure the safety of visitors who may not be aware of emergency procedures.

Among the latest security innovations will be the i-on Gen2, the next generation in the company’s industry leading intruder alarm control panels. Designed with cyber security in mind and integrating camera, cloud and mobile technologies, the i-on30R, a 30-zone radio panel, and the i-on40H, a hybrid 40-zone panel, offer enhanced functionality and connectivity for both commercial and technical installers.

Visitors can also hear about the new X10 industrial notification device, a flexible and high performing all-weather signaling product, which features a range of unique features that ensure clear visual and audible notification when required, alongside simple installation and robustness.

In the field of emergency lighting, Eaton’s latest innovations include the CrystalWay exit sign luminaire and the CGLine+ automatic testing system.

Experts from Eaton will be on hand to discuss partnerships, training and products with specifiers, contractors, system integrators and new opportunities for specialists and electrical distributors. Drawing on its vast experience and insight into the life safety market, Eaton now offers an array of systems and devices that can be configured to meet specific needs across varied industries and applications.

The combination of detection, notification and control is at the core of Eaton’s life safety offering, and all are designed with ease of installation, maintenance and daily usage as high priorities. Being scalable, modular and backwards-compatible, components can be configured within complete solutions that optimise safety, as well as energy efficiency and regulatory compliance.
