We’re excited to announce that Bernie Higgins, Operations Director at The Ethical Fire Safety Risk Management (TEFSRM) Group Ltd, will be joining the esteemed judging panel for the 2025 Fire Buyer Awards, taking place on November 13.
Bernie brings decades of leadership in fire safety, risk management, and standards development to his role at The Ethical Fire Safety Risk Management Group. With a career spanning both executive support and frontline strategy, he helps organisations implement robust fire safety frameworks grounded in regulatory compliance and practical insight.
Beyond his operational work, Bernie is a key figure in shaping fire safety standards. As Chairman of the British Standards Committee FSH/17 and the European Standards Committee CEN/TC 192, he leads efforts to harmonise firefighting equipment standards across the UK and Europe.
Bernie’s influence bridges high-level policy and real-world implementation, ensuring that protocols are both rigorous and adaptable. Known for his collaborative leadership and strategic foresight, he has built strong relationships across the UK fire sector and internationally.
Bernie work reflects a commitment to enhancing safety and operational excellence—uniting technical expertise with a pragmatic understanding of risk in today’s complex environments.
