Every fireground is different, so when it comes to fire ventilation — the planned and systematic removal of heat, smoke and gases from a structure, followed by the introduction of fresh, cool air — there’s no one-size-fits-all ventilation tactic.
Should your crew take out a window on the fire floor for horizontal ventilation, send the ladder company to the roof for vertical ventilation or opt for mechanical ventilation, like power venting or positive- or negative-pressure tactics? Compound these choices with the dynamics of the scene — building size, room geometry, interior contents and construction materials — and you can see ventilation is an art that requires the right tools.
That’s where Super Vac comes in. The world leader in emergency ventilation equipment, Super Vac equips crews with a versatile array of only the toughest solutions, including the industry’s largest lineup of PPV fans, spanning from 20- to 203-cm blades, as well as smoke ejectors, available in 30- 40-, 50 and 60-cm blades. In addition to a wide variety of fan sizes, departments can choose from an array of fan power sources, including battery, electric, petrol and water turbine. Super Vac also manufactures rescue saws, rehab misters and other necessities to keep the fireground safe.
Super Vac will display its ventilation lineup at both Intersec and Interschutz 2025 and has plans to unveil its already popular battery fan with boosted output at the two international shows. Show goers can also expect to see the rollout of Super Vac’s Stilh battery-powered fan, which joins Super Vac’s lineup of non-proprietary battery platforms, featuring DeWalt, Lukas, Makita and Milwaukee batteries. The manufacturer prides itself on building battery fans that are compatible with crew’s other battery-powered tools.
Last but not least, Super Vac’s largest, most powerful fan — the 48” SVU — has been a staple in large-scale ventilation. In 2024, Super Vac delivered eight gas-powered SVUs to Dubai with the help of its dealer, NAFFCO. Each fan delivers a whopping 200,000 cfm of airflow to help ventilate structures like airport terminals, manufacturing facilities, large warehouse, commercial structures and high-rise buildings. The SVU can be mounted on a truck, flatbed, trailer or skid unit for mobility. Ducts and misting attachments make this fan even more versatile, while the fan itself is designed to raise 30”, rotate 20 degrees and tilt +/0 20-degrees up or down for maximum airflow control.
Established in the mid 1930s, Super Vac has been delivering ventilation solutions for decades and has been a long-standing partner with United States Navy, which uses Super Vac’s smoke ventilators for onboard ship emergencies. Additionally, Super Vac prides itself on building fans that are third-party certified by AMCA, the Air Movement Control Association. Super Vac’s latest battery fans are 240-22 certified, tested to the latest battery fan standard. This new standard meets international standards for smaller doors, constant power supply and documentation of runtimes.
