Warringtonfire invests in façade testing facility in Melbourne

Warringtonfire, part of Element Materials Technology, has completed the latest stage of investment at its fire testing laboratory in Melbourne, Australia.
The project involved an upgrade of its façade testing facilities, with the addition of a roof and smoke extraction system over the test rig completing the project. The rig supports testing for AS 5113 / BS 8414, a large-scale test that determines the behaviour of an overall external cladding system, rather than examining individual components.
The improvements ensure that test programs can remain on schedule, shortening the laboratory’s overall turnaround times and delivering service levels that Warringtonfire’s customers expect.
Rob Veitch, EVP of Fire & Building Products at Element, said, “The improved facilities in Melbourne provide added protection from variable weather conditions, which avoids consequent delays. This investment ensures that the comprehensive service we offer to our customers is in line with the quality of the testing we perform.”
Warringtonfire offers a comprehensive range of impartial and independent fire safety services that are a globally respected mark of quality assurance. From developing fire safety design strategies, through testing and certification of passive fire protection products, to inspection, commissioning and certification of completed projects, Warringtonfire can help with all aspects of fire safety.
