Intersec Profile: Fireaway (Stat-X)

Intersec exhibitor, Fireaway is a cutting-edge technology company that specialises in innovative fire suppression solutions for the global market

Headquartered in Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA, Fireaway incorporates excellence in all aspects of the design and manufacture of Stat-X. At the heart of Fireaway’s commitment to excellence is the adherence to internationally recognised standards for quality and environmental management. The company proudly holds certifications for ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015, underscoring its dedication to maintaining the highest standards in product quality and environmental responsibility.

Additionally, Stat-X is United States Coast Guard (USCG) approved. Obtaining USCG approval is an arduous task where few newer technologies are successful. After extensive testing and vetting, the USCG found Stat-X to be highly effective in protecting machinery spaces and thus awarded the coveted approval.

Cutting-Edge Technology

Fireaway has positioned itself at the forefront of the fire protection industry through a relentless pursuit of cutting-edge technologies. The Stat-X fire suppression system utilises a solid, proprietary, potassium-based compound to produce a rapidly expanding fire suppression aerosol. The agent effectively extinguishes fires by disrupting the combustion process and remains suspended for several minutes, providing reflash protection. The Stat-X system is recognised for its speed, effectiveness, and versatility, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.

Industry Applications

Stat-X is revolutionary because of its versatility in protecting a wide array of assets. Remote, dirty, and difficult-to-protect locations are where Stat-X units thrive. Stat-X systems can be installed as a single, thermally activated unit protecting an electrical cabinet, or it can be employed as a comprehensive total flooding system connected to a fire detection device that protects battery energy storage systems, wind turbines, machinery spaces, rolling stock, and tunnel-boring machines, and indoor hydrocarbon processing. And the list is almost endless.

Stat-X is so versatile because the units are sturdy and self-contained. They require no piping, no banks of agent, and in many of its applications, even no electricity. Stat-X systems are virtually maintenance free, and users can avoid the comprehensive testing requirements of legacy fire suppression systems (e.g., sprinklers, clean agents, and CO2).

Environmental Responsibility

In an era where environmental sustainability is a top priority, Fireaway is proud to offer fire suppression solutions that are not only effective, but also environmentally friendly. Stat-X has been extensively tested for its impact on the environment.

Stat-X has zero global warming potential, zero ozone depletion potential, and zero atmospheric life. It is safe to use in normally occupied areas. Users can be certain that they will not be faced with costly agent replacement because of changes in environmental regulations.

Innovation for a Safer Future

As a company driven by innovation, Fireaway continues to invest in research and development to push the boundaries of fire suppression technology. Their commitment to continuous improvement ensures that Fireaway and its brand, Stat-X, remain at the forefront of the industry, anticipating emerging challenges and delivering solutions that redefine safety standards. Fireaway is more than a fire suppression company—it is a beacon of innovation and reliability in the quest for global safety.
