Closing in on one million units sold, Stat-X can be found on every continent and in over 90 countries around the world. Fireaway introduced Stat-X to the fire protection world in 2005, launching an assertive program to enhance the agent’s formulation and delivery systems while educating the world about condensed aerosol technology. The world took notice. In just three years, Stat-X achieved ULC certification and was approved or listed by ten entities, many of which were international organizations. Today, Stat-X is United States Coast Guard approved, and the product continues to accumulate additional approvals and listings, making it a trusted choice for special hazard fire suppression worldwide.
In addition to its outstanding performance as a fire suppression agent, Stat-X is safe for the environment. This is particularly critical, considering that many fire suppression agents are being scrutinized for environmental concerns or public health risks. The phased-down production of several popular “clean” agents is forcing fire safety professionals to rethink their approach to fire protection. Stat-X provides an attractive alternative to large legacy fire suppression systems, requiring no piping or large stores of agent, no complicated testing, and virtually no maintenance. The units have a 15-year service life and can be easily retrofitted to existing spaces.
Stat-X units can be activated manually or thermally, and the electrically activated units are operated by a fire detection system. Cleanup after discharge is minimal, further enhancing the ease of use. In addition to its performance and safety, Stat-X is designed to operate in the harshest environments. These units can be found in deep underground mines and high above ground in wind turbine nacelles. Hot, dirty, dusty, or wet locations are ideal for Stat-X units.
Fireaway never stops innovating and committing to fire safety. Responding to feedback from distributors and customers, Stat-X introduced a 15-gram unit in 2024, specifically designed to protect electrical and communication cabinets as well as EV charging infrastructure. This new unit features a rectangular design, marking a departure from the traditional cylinder format, which was found to be more compatible with the risks being protected.
