Five speakers from different parts of the world

On the list of events of this year’s intersec in Dubai was amongst others a seminar hosted by the International Water Mist Association (IWMA). On 19th January – the first day of the fair – five speakers from different parts of the world held lectures about “Fire Protection with Water Mist”. The audience consisted of over nearly 80 interested people, most of them from the Middle East region.
Alex Palle, CEO of the Danish company VID Fire-Kill, spoke twice. In his first lecture he introduced water mist as a state of the art technology. During a second presentation he explained water mist applications and approvals.

To give the audience an idea about standardizations in Europe – where water mist as it is used today has its roots – Marco Pesaola, Eusebi Impianti, Italy, gave a lecture on “New Water Mist Solutions according to Annex B of CEN 14972 – Guidelines for developing Fire Test Procedures for Water Mist System”.
Mohamed Sorour, owner of the Egyptian based company Deutschland Technology, concentrated on “Challenges in Mega Projects” in his lecture.
During the presentation which followed Rüdiger Kopp (Fogtec Fire Protection, Germany) talked about the “State of the Art Cable Tunnel Protection with High Pressure Water Mist”.

The final speaker was Rashid Haddadi from the Danish Company Danfoss Semco. The topic of his speech was the “Protection of outdoor
Transformers with High Pressure Water Mist”.
“Many high-quality questions came from the audience which reflected thequality of the presentations and which also proofs that the interest in fire protection with water mist is continually growing within this region”, says Bettina McDowell, IWMA association secretary. “
