From December 7 to 8, 2022, the ninth edition of the VdS-BrandSchutzTage will take place in Cologne. The fire protection solution provider WAGNER will present its portfolio of products and systems for plant fire protection at its booth C-06, focusing in particular on fire protection for lithium-ion batteries.
Lithium-ion batteries are versatile and an indispensable part of everyday life. However, they also place special demands on fire protection. As an example, in addition to the number of batteries stored, the battery charge level in particular, as well as necessary safety distances between the batteries, are important aspects that must be taken into account during storage. “At WAGNER, fire protection for lithium-ion batteries is always a holistic solution that is developed as needed based on the specific risk analysis and the individual protection goals,” explains Matthias Dorsch, Head of Market Solution Management at WAGNER. How such a solution can look like is explained by the graduate engineer using the example of the reference project KETTLER Alu Rad GmbH in the exhibitor forum on December 8th from 2:10 p.m. in his presentation on the topic “Small power packs – big fire load: The appropriate fire protection for lithium-ion batteries is always a question of risk awareness and the individual, customized solution.”
At the WAGNER booth, visitors will also have the opportunity to find out more about the portfolio of products and systems offered by the fire protection solutions provider. In addition to the TITANUS early fire detection system (aspirating smoke detector), this also includes the OxyReduct technology for active fire prevention, which works on the principle of oxygen reduction, as well as the FirExting gas extinguishing system in the area of firefighting. All systems are VdS-certified.
