• Rosenbauer to equip Malaysian airports
• 21 fire fighting vehicles with a value of 17.4 m€ for airports in Malaysia
Leonding, October 21, 2010. Rosenbauer, the world market leader in the special fire service vehicle field has received a contract from the UMW Group for the supply of 21 aircraft rescue fire fighting (ARFF) vehicles to the Malaysia Airport Holding Berhad (MAHB). The order, which has a value of 17.4 m€, includes 19 PANTHERS with three-axle chassis and two pumper trucks for airport operations.
The PANTHER celebrated its debut in Malaysia in August 2009 at PETRONAS Kerteh Airport and now a further sixteen vehicles are to be stationed at the larger airports in western and eastern Malaysia during the course of 2011. Moreover, from the end of 2011, three additional vehicles are to become operational at the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) in Kuala Lumpur. The LCCT is a terminal at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, which handles economy flight passengers.
