An apartment block in the Douglas region of the Isle of Man in the UK had to be evacuated following a fire that broke out from a toaster on the third floor of the building.
The building, on Queen’s Promenade, was attended to by firefighters at 10:30 on the 18th December, who tended to the seven-storey building as quickly as possible,
There were no injuries as a result of the blaze, however one person had to be taken to hospital purely for precaution based reasons.
Speaking in the aftermath of a fire, a spokesman for the Island of Man Fire and Rescue service heaped praise on “quick-thinking neighbours” who had managed to safely get a resident in the building who had mobility problems out of harm’s way.
