With a handover ceremony in Sofia 67 Light Forestry Vehicles, Class L, Category 3 were delivered to the Chief Directorate of Fire Safety and Civil Defense (Ministry of Interior) of Bulgaria. Based on an Iveco Daily chassis, Magirus delivered a state-of-the-art firefighting vehicle with full cross-country mobility. A symbolic key was given to Iskra Mihaylova, Minister of Environment and Water during the presence of the ambassador of Germany in Bulgaria, Matthias Hoepfner, and Magirus CEO Antonio Benedetti.
Specification the Light Forestry Vehicles:
Chassis: 4×4, single cabin, single tires, 170 HP, GVW 5.5 ton, wheelbase 3400 mm
Superstructure: Balefire Body, 1000 L water, 100 L foam, Magirus Portable Pump TS 10 with primatic priming system, Pump & Roll, Hose reel with hose and branch pipe, sprinkler self protection system for cabin & superstructure & tires, Foam admixing system, protection grids for the beacons
Additionally 67 Medium Forestry Vehicles, Class M, Category 3, will be delivered by Magirus within March 2014. Both deliveries cover an amount of 16 million €. The project “Technical provision of the operative structures GDPBZN – Ministry of Interior MoI for firefighting against forest fires” was financed by the program "Environment 2007 – 2013" in Bulgaria.
